Hello, my name is Paula but most of my family and friends know me as Pebbles, an affectionate nickname given to me by my mother. I've been crocheting miniature bears since 2005 and just couldn't resist affectionately calling them Bedrock Bears.
Starting back as far as 1973, I have enjoyed learning how to knit, macrame, latch hook, weave, bead and crochet. Crochet has been the one that warms my heart the most. My absolute favorite items to crochet were the animals. If a pattern had an animal in it, I'd buy it. When I couldn't find patterns I would make up my on little creations.
In 2005 I bought a couple of patterns for miniature crocheted bears and after making one bear from one of the patterns, I decided to design my own style of bears. It's such a wonderful feeling watching each bear come to life and seeing how different their personalities turn out.
Shortly after I started to create my own bears, I became a Member of the Thread Artist Guild, aka TAG. TAG has become an important part of my growth. It's a community of supportive and helpful people and a great place to share ideas, see a variety of fiber forms and challenge one's self to step outside a comfort zone. In 2006, I set out to earn a status of Thread Artist Member with in TAG. Even though earning a member status is totally voluntarily, I was quite proud to have earned said title in June of that same year!
